Infrared Sauna Coming! Part 1 of a Glisten and Glow Series

Author: Annette K. Scott

News Flash! Sweating (or getting your glow and glisten on) is good, if not great, for you. And while we at Kodawari studios already have infrared panels as a part of our hot yoga offerings we know that not everyone is down for exercising in a hot room or for that matter, running around out in the Florida heat. It might be just a tad too intense and yet, getting some time in an infrared sauna to get your sweat on is one of the safest ways to illicit the body’s natural desire to heal and stay healthy. SO! We are super happy to announce that we will soon be able to offer you an easy and all levels accessible alternative to getting your glisten and glow on with our Sunlighten’s infrared sauna. It is proven to: relieve pain, increase detoxification, improve circulation, aid in weight loss, lower blood pressure, and help with cellulite removal. DANG! What a list!

And the one of the nicest things is that Sunlighten’s infrared sauna uses dry, gentle, heat as opposed to traditional saunas that use harsh and humid heat! Our sauna is due to arrive mid-July! But you can BOOK AND BUY NOW! There are so many benefits that saunas, specifically infrared (near and far) can provide…

If saunas or infrared sauna technology is new to you, know that infrared light is a part of the sun’s invisible spectrum of light and specifically, this sauna generates two particular types of wavelength – near and far infrared (more on this below) both of which have the ability to penetrate human tissue. Infrared saunas increase the body’s core temperature which results in a much deeper, more detoxifying sweat that’s coming from the cellular level of the skin where many of the toxins that our body’s struggle to process are housed. The sweat analysis of a traditional sauna is 97% water and 3% toxins. Our infrared sauna’s sweat analysis is 80% water and 20% toxins!

If this already sounds good to you, know that the benefits of using a sauna extend far beyond getting your detoxifying glow on.

So to continue the list of benefits sauna use brings I will name just a few…stay tuned for the future blog posts – it’s just too much for one sitting…but here we go with the “short list”!

  • pain relief
  • detoxification
  • increased circulation
  • aiding weight loss
  • lowered blood pressure
  • cellulite removal.

An infrared sauna uses dry, gentle, heat that generates a wave-length of light (Infrared) that has the ability to penetrate the human tissue. This particular wave-length of light means that infrared saunas increase the body’s core temperature thus resulting in a much deeper, more detoxifying sweat from the cellular level of the skin where many toxins are housed.

One of the biggest  that infrared saunas can lay (scientific) claim to is:

DETOXIFICATION!!!! YOUR SKIN IS YOUR BIGGEST ORGAN. KEEP IT HEALTH!

Detoxifying, as a part of any serious health regimen, has become increasingly necessary to our overall health. Our continuous exposure to the many chemicals in our air, water, food, and personal hygiene products result in negative health impacts. On-going toxicity issues such as chronic fatigue or flu-like aches and pains, undermine our quality of life and challenge many of us. Far Infrared Saunas, in general, release toxins through sweat helping to restore the body’s natural balance and the level of detoxification from a Sunlighten™ sauna is 7 to 10 times greater than a conventional sauna.

And here’s a few more of the technical details on how this whole thing works:

Near Infrared

Near infrared technology used in Sunlighten Infrared Saunas is similar to the infrared used in cosmetic and healing devices. The LED technology used allows the heaters to produce consistent near infrared without extreme heat or light, making it a safe option for near infrared use. Near infrared waves have a shorter frequency range and penetrate the epidermis layer of the skin. This is how near-infrared is able to impact your body at the cellular level, encouraging tissue growth, speeding up muscle recovery and strengthening your immune system.

Far Infrared

Because far infrared sauna therapy heats the body directly rather than simply warming the air, it raises the core body temperature and produces a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where most toxins reside. Your sweat then pushes out the toxins, cleansing your body and rejuvenating your skin. Far infrared also aids in blood pressure reduction and weight loss, along with a wide range of other health benefits.
