Michelle Zivkov was drawn to teaching yoga after nine years as an elementary school teacher. Always an avid traveler and learner, she was inspired to take a break from teaching to travel the world and deepen her yoga practice by completing her yoga teacher training with Zuna Yoga while in Bail, Indonesia.

Fascinated by the philosophy, depth of knowledge and transformation that yoga brings, Michelle is passionate about sharing her love for this practice with others, “I love sharing the practice of yoga because I love the way it helps empower people to become the best version of themselves. I love the way it gives people strength through challenges, the same way life does. So many times people can feel very stressed and anxious and I appreciate the way that yoga helps give people an outlet and the tools to feel more centered and in the moment and let go of those feelings that do not serve them.”

Michelle’s classes are focused on linking breath to movement using pranayama techniques, hatha yoga, and vinyasa flow methods. She loves helping others to become the best version of themselves by connecting the mind, body, and spirit.

I love practicing yoga because of the way it helps clear my mind and renew my energy to feel more calm and grounded. I enjoy the fact that in yoga you are always a student and there is always something new to learn and progress to be made, which is also very parallel to life in general.

The other thing that Michelle has a love for is travel, “I have a slight obsession with traveling the world and going on adventures. I’ve been to 35 different countries and counting!”
